Dr. Liao Guiqing ’s Three Key Areas of Expertise
Three areas of focused expertise, each supported by a deep subspecialty team, high case volumes and an English-speaking care pathway coordinated by Orisene.
Microscopic root canal treatment
Professor Ling performs microscopic root canal treatment for pulpitis, apical periodontitis and complex root canal anatomy, using dental operating microscopes and rotary nickel-titanium instruments to locate missed canals, remove infection and preserve natural teeth for patients with difficult endodontic disease in routine clinical practice.
Regenerative endodontics
He provides regenerative endodontic procedures for traumatised immature permanent teeth with pulp necrosis, combining careful disinfection, blood clot or scaffold-based approaches to regenerate vital tissue, restore root development and preserve the function of these young teeth in children and adolescents.
Caries and pulp disease
He diagnoses and treats dental caries, pulp exposure and periapical disease, applying minimally invasive caries removal, vital pulp therapy and microsurgical endodontics to relieve pain, prevent complications and retain teeth for these patients across all age groups in routine practice.
More: dental trauma——emergency care; discoloured teeth——bleaching; root canal retreatment——microsurgery; endodontic-restorative interface——planning; postgraduate endodontic training——teaching
Selected cases, research & publications

3. Molecular Research in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma
This 2025 study investigates molecular features of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma to improve understanding of tumour behaviour and progression. For patients and clinicians, such research supports the discovery of biomarkers and targeted approaches in the management of oral and head-neck malignancies, helping guide more personalised and effective treatment.

4. Clinical Trial on Oral and Head-Neck Cancer Treatment
This registered clinical trial investigates treatment options for oral and head-neck cancer. It reflects systematic efforts to evaluate therapeutic regimens for patients with oral malignancy, supporting evidence-based surgical and multidisciplinary management of head and neck tumours at leading Chinese clinical centres and informing future standards of care.

5. Salivary Gland Disease and Craniofacial Reconstruction
Patients with salivary gland tumours, dry mouth or oral cancer require specialised diagnosis and surgery. Liao Guiqing leads the salivary gland disease group of the Chinese Stomatological Association, combining precise tumour resection with functional reconstruction to preserve swallowing, speech and facial appearance.
6. Head and Neck Cancer Cell Death Research
This study examines programmed cell death pathways in head and neck cancer. Understanding how tumour cells die may reveal new treatment targets for oral and head-neck squamous cell carcinoma, offering hope for patients with advanced or recurrent disease and supporting the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Why patients travel to China for treatment
Six reasons international patients now put China on their shortlist — from internationally aligned clinical capability to the policy channels that make treatment here genuinely reachable.
Clinical capability at international standard
Chinese hospitals deliver internationally aligned protocols, performing vast volumes of advanced robotic, minimally invasive, and complex transplant surgeries annually. This massive clinical data and highly specialized workforce ensure world-class outcomes, even for rare and complex cases.
Diagnostics and treatment in days, not months
A full medical workup that typically means months of waiting elsewhere is completed in China within 48–72 hours. Imaging, labs, and multidisciplinary consultations are integrated into a single visit, allowing treatment to commence immediately.
Transparent, itemised pricing
Chinese healthcare offers legally binding, itemised cost estimates before treatment begins, eliminating hidden fees or surprise billing. Due to national centralized procurement, total expenses remain 40–70% lower than comparable care in Western Europe or North America.
Policy channels that open the door
China facilitates access through 240-hour visa-free transit and dedicated medical visa routes. Policies like the Greater Bay Area drug pathway and Boao Lecheng’s pilot zone allow designated hospitals to administer innovative therapies not yet globally approved.
