Dr. Lin Yi ’s Three Key Areas of Expertise
Three areas of focused expertise, each supported by a deep subspecialty team, high case volumes and an English-speaking care pathway coordinated by Orisene.
Breast cancer
She integrates Chinese and Western medicine to treat breast cancer and provides post-surgical conditioning; her inflammation-cancer differentiation theory and herbal formulas support patients through surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, harmonizing essence qi and blood to address advanced breast cancer cachexia and aid recovery
Inflammatory breast diseases
She treats acute mastitis and plasma cell mastitis; as a leading expert she uses Chinese medicine to control breast inflammation, resolve masses and preserve the breast, applying the six-stagnation theory and syndrome differentiation to regulate qi and blood and reduce recurrence
Breast hyperplasia
Treatment is based on the six-stagnation theory; she addresses breast hyperplasia and related breast pain through syndrome differentiation, regulating qi, blood and emotion, and uses her developed herbal preparations and nearly sixty years of experience to relieve distension, nodules and discomfort
More: breast nodules——diffuse breast lumps; postpartum lactation disorders——mastitis and insufficient milk; TCM rehabilitation——recovery after breast tumor surgery and cachexia care
Selected cases, research & publications
Representative work drawn from documented clinical treatments, publicly indexed literature, and hospital project records, reflecting the depth of this physician's hands-on expertise and academic rigor.
1. XIAOPI Formula for Breast Hyperplasia and Breast Cancer
XIAOPI formula is an approved Chinese herbal medicine used for decades against mammary hyperplasia. Researchers showed it suppresses M2 tumour-associated macrophage polarisation and CXCL1 secretion, inhibiting breast cancer stem cells and lung metastasis in mouse xenografts, offering a safe immunomodulatory option for women seeking traditional breast disease treatment in China.

2. XIAOPI Formula Blocks Pre-Metastatic Niche in Breast Cancer
This study explored how XIAOPI formula prevents the pre-metastatic niche, a prerequisite for breast cancer spread. By reducing CXCL1 released from tumour-associated macrophages, it limited recruitment of bone-marrow progenitor cells and lung metastasis in advanced breast cancer models, supporting herbal breast cancer metastasis prevention for patients after mastectomy.
3. Network Pharmacology Validates CXCL1 Target of XIAOPI Formula
Using network pharmacology, investigators identified eighty-one genes linked to XIAOPI formula’s breast cancer chemoprevention and validated CXCL1 as the key target. Blocking CXCL1 reversed XIAOPI’s inhibition of breast cancer migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition and mammosphere formation, giving molecular evidence for herbal breast cancer prevention.

4. Cyclic Herbal Therapy for Atypical Breast Hyperplasia
Lin Yi’s breast disease centre reported cyclic herbal therapy for atypical mammary hyperplasia achieving a 91.8 percent effective rate, reducing breast nodules and pain. The regimen reflects his holistic endocrine-immunity approach, helping women with breast nodules avoid unnecessary surgery. An official Guangdong hospital feature documents the legacy of this celebrated breast specialist.
5. Jinrong Granule: First TCM Innovative Drug from a Hospital Formula
Jinrong Granule, derived from Lin Yi’s clinical formula, was approved in 2018 as a Class 1.1 innovative Chinese medicine for breast hyperplasia. One of China’s first hospital-formula-derived new drugs, it regulates endocrine and immune imbalance to relieve breast pain and shrink nodules, and later received national TCM secondary protection.
6. National TCM Master Lin Yi: Breast Disease Legacy
A feature profile of Lin Yi, China’s leading traditional Chinese medicine breast disease specialist and lifelong professor at Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine. It documents his founding of the country’s first TCM breast clinic, his self-developed preparations and his role training breast specialists, useful for patients seeking an experienced breast disease practitioner.

Why patients travel to China for treatment
Six reasons international patients now put China on their shortlist — from internationally aligned clinical capability to the policy channels that make treatment here genuinely reachable.
Clinical capability at international standard
Chinese hospitals deliver internationally aligned protocols, performing vast volumes of advanced robotic, minimally invasive, and complex transplant surgeries annually. This massive clinical data and highly specialized workforce ensure world-class outcomes, even for rare and complex cases.
Diagnostics and treatment in days, not months
A full medical workup that typically means months of waiting elsewhere is completed in China within 48–72 hours. Imaging, labs, and multidisciplinary consultations are integrated into a single visit, allowing treatment to commence immediately.
Transparent, itemised pricing
Chinese healthcare offers legally binding, itemised cost estimates before treatment begins, eliminating hidden fees or surprise billing. Due to national centralized procurement, total expenses remain 40–70% lower than comparable care in Western Europe or North America.
Policy channels that open the door
China facilitates access through 240-hour visa-free transit and dedicated medical visa routes. Policies like the Greater Bay Area drug pathway and Boao Lecheng’s pilot zone allow designated hospitals to administer innovative therapies not yet globally approved.
