About Dr. Wang Jingfeng
Professor Wang Jingfeng has devoted more than four decades to cardiovascular medicine, clinical teaching and research. He serves as Director of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital and President of the Chinese Society of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing. His clinical focus covers interventional treatment of coronary artery disease, cardiac device implantation, and the management of complex, critically ill cardiovascular patients. He has performed nearly a thousand pacemaker implantations and pioneered physiological pacing in southern China. He has led eight National Natural Science Foundation projects, published over one hundred SCI papers and received several provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.

Dr. Wang Jingfeng ’s Three Key Areas of Expertise
Three areas of focused expertise, each supported by a deep subspecialty team, high case volumes and an English-speaking care pathway coordinated by Orisene.
Cardiac device implantation
Professor Wang is a leading authority in implanting pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD) and cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) devices. He has completed nearly a thousand pacemaker procedures and pioneered physiological pacing techniques throughout southern China for patients with bradycardia and conduction block.
Complex arrhythmia and catheter ablation
He manages atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and other severe rhythm disorders, combining antiarrhythmic drug therapy with radiofrequency catheter ablation. He has built one of southern China's largest cardiac implantable electronic device centres, delivering consistently high success rates and low complication rates for patients.
Coronary intervention and heart failure
Professor Wang performs complex percutaneous coronary intervention, including coronary stenting and rotational atherectomy, for coronary artery disease and acute myocardial infarction. He also advances cardiac resynchronisation therapy and left bundle branch pacing to improve long-term outcomes in patients with severe heart failure.
More:hypertension and refractory hypertension; valvular heart disease balloon dilation; renal and peripheral artery stenting; congenital heart disease closure; lead extraction and device revision; syncope and sudden cardiac death prevention.
Selected cases, research & publications
Representative work drawn from documented clinical treatments, publicly indexed literature, and hospital project records, reflecting the depth of this physician's hands-on expertise and academic rigor.
1. First Leadless Pacemaker Implanted in Southern China
Professor Wang’s team performed the first leadless pacemaker (Micra) implantation in southern China at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital in December 2019. The 59-year-old patient received the capsule-sized device under local anaesthesia in about thirty minutes, avoiding surgical incisions and enabling rapid recovery.
2. Emergency Bedside Cardiac Pacing Technique
Early in his career, Professor Wang helped develop temporary pacing electrodes and a bedside pacing device, enabling emergency resuscitation of patients with cardiac arrest. The technique was widely adopted by hospitals across China and recognised with a Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education.

3. Rescuing a Critical Heart Failure Patient with Detached Leads
In 2026 Professor Wang guided a multidisciplinary team to extract three malfunctioning leads and simultaneously implant an advanced LOT-CRT physiological pacing system in a 69-year-old woman with severe heart failure. Her QRS duration fell from 200 ms to 98 ms and she walked the next day.

4. Guangdong Sudden Cardiac Death Prevention Network
Since 2022 Professor Wang has led a Guangdong expert network for sudden cardiac death prevention, screening patients with structural heart disease to identify high-risk individuals early. The programme has already benefited more than fourteen thousand people through early diagnosis, warning and intervention.

5. Elected President of the National Pacing Society
In February 2026 Professor Wang was elected President of the ninth committee of the Chinese Society of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing, reflecting nationwide recognition of his academic and clinical achievements. He has also served three consecutive terms on the National Cardiovascular Disease Expert Committee.

Why patients travel to China for treatment
Six reasons international patients now put China on their shortlist — from internationally aligned clinical capability to the policy channels that make treatment here genuinely reachable.
Clinical capability at international standard
Chinese hospitals deliver internationally aligned protocols, performing vast volumes of advanced robotic, minimally invasive, and complex transplant surgeries annually. This massive clinical data and highly specialized workforce ensure world-class outcomes, even for rare and complex cases.
Diagnostics and treatment in days, not months
A full medical workup that typically means months of waiting elsewhere is completed in China within 48–72 hours. Imaging, labs, and multidisciplinary consultations are integrated into a single visit, allowing treatment to commence immediately.
Transparent, itemised pricing
Chinese healthcare offers legally binding, itemised cost estimates before treatment begins, eliminating hidden fees or surprise billing. Due to national centralized procurement, total expenses remain 40–70% lower than comparable care in Western Europe or North America.
Policy channels that open the door
China facilitates access through 240-hour visa-free transit and dedicated medical visa routes. Policies like the Greater Bay Area drug pathway and Boao Lecheng’s pilot zone allow designated hospitals to administer innovative therapies not yet globally approved.
