Dr. Yang Zhimin ’s Three Key Areas of Expertise
Three areas of focused expertise, each supported by a deep subspecialty team, high case volumes and an English-speaking care pathway coordinated by Orisene.
Chronic insomnia
She provides sequential TCM treatment and long-term management; she created a nationally promoted sequential protocol and the harmony-state health concept to restore sleep rhythm, using syndrome differentiation, herbal formulas and the Shuhe Granules studied in her randomized double-blind controlled trial
Emotional and sub-health conditions
She offers TCM regulation for anxiety, depression and chronic fatigue; through syndrome differentiation, acupuncture and herbal formulas she aims to improve mood, energy and sleep, addressing the emotional and constitutional imbalance behind sub-health states and helping restore balance for long-term wellness
Constitutional regulation
She specializes in herbal paste and preventive treatment; as a leading expert in TCM preventive medicine she designs individualized constitutional programs to strengthen immunity, drawing on the dampness-syndrome research of the State Key Laboratory to improve overall health and resistance to illness
More: chronic fatigue syndrome——energy restoration; menopausal syndrome——TCM symptom relief; long-term wellness——TCM health preservation and constitutional conditioning

2. Ointment Therapy for Chronic Insomnia
This paper summarises Professor Yang Zhimin’s experience using herbal ointment formulas to treat chronic insomnia. Adopting a holistic view and valuing spleen regulation, she balances deficiency and excess and harmonises the heart and kidney, spleen and stomach to restore sleep, with several verified clinical cases illustrating the approach.
3. Treating Insomnia from Yang Deficiency
Professor Yang Zhimin of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine argues that although insomnia is often treated by suppressing excessive yang, many patients actually have yang deficiency, which is becoming more common. Treating such patients with conventional yin-nourishing methods often fails, so she uses warming and tonifying strategies with good clinical results.

Why patients travel to China for treatment
Six reasons international patients now put China on their shortlist — from internationally aligned clinical capability to the policy channels that make treatment here genuinely reachable.
Clinical capability at international standard
Chinese hospitals deliver internationally aligned protocols, performing vast volumes of advanced robotic, minimally invasive, and complex transplant surgeries annually. This massive clinical data and highly specialized workforce ensure world-class outcomes, even for rare and complex cases.
Diagnostics and treatment in days, not months
A full medical workup that typically means months of waiting elsewhere is completed in China within 48–72 hours. Imaging, labs, and multidisciplinary consultations are integrated into a single visit, allowing treatment to commence immediately.
Transparent, itemised pricing
Chinese healthcare offers legally binding, itemised cost estimates before treatment begins, eliminating hidden fees or surprise billing. Due to national centralized procurement, total expenses remain 40–70% lower than comparable care in Western Europe or North America.
Policy channels that open the door
China facilitates access through 240-hour visa-free transit and dedicated medical visa routes. Policies like the Greater Bay Area drug pathway and Boao Lecheng’s pilot zone allow designated hospitals to administer innovative therapies not yet globally approved.
