Dr. Zhou Daihan ’s Three Key Areas of Expertise
Three areas of focused expertise, each supported by a deep subspecialty team, high case volumes and an English-speaking care pathway coordinated by Orisene.
Advanced lung cancer
He diagnoses and treats advanced non-small-cell lung cancer with integrated Chinese and Western medicine, combining herbal formulae such as He-Chan Pian with chemotherapy and targeted therapy to control tumour growth, relieve symptoms and prolong survival for patients with late-stage lung cancer.
Liver and colorectal cancer
He treats primary liver cancer and colorectal cancer using syndrome-differentiation herbal therapy alongside conventional treatment, aiming to protect liver function, reduce treatment toxicity, enhance immune function and improve the quality of life of patients with these common digestive-system malignancies in clinical practice.
Nasopharyngeal cancer and cancer pain
He manages nasopharyngeal carcinoma and cancer-related pain with individualised herbal prescriptions and acupuncture, working to reduce radiotherapy side effects, control persistent pain, support nutrition and immunity and maintain the daily comfort of patients living with advanced or recurrent tumours in routine care.
More:lung cancer——TCM therapy; liver cancer——integrated care; colorectal cancer——herbal treatment; nasopharyngeal cancer——supportive care; cancer pain——management
Selected cases, research & publications
Representative work drawn from documented clinical treatments, publicly indexed literature, and hospital project records, reflecting the depth of this physician's hands-on expertise and academic rigor.
1. Hecan Pian for advanced lung cancer
Hecan Pian is a Chinese patent medicine developed by Professor Zhou Daihan for patients with lung cancer, combining herbal antitumor agents to relieve cough, reduce pleural effusion and improve quality of life. It became one of the earliest approved Chinese medicines for lung cancer and is still used alongside chemotherapy in advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients.

2. Survival-with-tumor strategy for advanced cancer
Professor Zhou Daihan pioneered the survival-with-tumor concept, guiding treatment of patients with advanced lung, liver and colorectal cancer who cannot be cured by surgery. Instead of eradicating every tumor cell, the strategy harmonizes vital qi and cancer toxins to control tumor growth, ease symptoms and prolong survival while improving quality of life.
3. Yiqi Chutan and Peitu Shengjin therapy for lung cancer
This clinical approach treats lung cancer by tonifying qi, resolving phlegm and strengthening the spleen and lung, targeting the deficiency-toxin pattern seen in most patients. Used in outpatient lung cancer care, it reduces chemotherapy side effects, improves immune function and quality of life, and is supported by research on the AKT signaling pathway in cisplatin-resistant lung cancer cells.
4. Shentao Ruangan Wan for primary liver cancer
Shentao Ruangan Wan is a hospital preparation created by Professor Zhou Daihan to treat patients with primary liver cancer, especially those with ascites or after transarterial chemoembolization. Combined with syndrome differentiation, it aims to soften the liver, disperse masses, support healthy qi and relieve abdominal distension, jaundice and poor appetite in advanced liver cancer patients.

5. Integrated research on Chinese herbal medicine and chemotherapy
Professor Zhou Daihan has led integrated Chinese and Western medicine antitumor research for decades, exploring how herbal formulas interact with chemotherapy and radiotherapy in cancer patients. His work on clearing heat, detoxifying and supporting vital qi helped build the evidence base for traditional Chinese medicine in advanced lung, liver and nasopharyngeal cancer treatment.

6. Clinical syndrome differentiation for advanced cancer patients
In his oncology clinic, Professor Zhou Daihan applies syndrome differentiation to treat patients with advanced cancer, tailoring herbal formulas to each person’s constitution and disease stage. This patient-centered approach focuses on controlling tumors, relieving pain and fatigue, and helping patients with lung, liver and colorectal cancer live longer with a better quality of life.

Why patients travel to China for treatment
Six reasons international patients now put China on their shortlist — from internationally aligned clinical capability to the policy channels that make treatment here genuinely reachable.
Clinical capability at international standard
Chinese hospitals deliver internationally aligned protocols, performing vast volumes of advanced robotic, minimally invasive, and complex transplant surgeries annually. This massive clinical data and highly specialized workforce ensure world-class outcomes, even for rare and complex cases.
Diagnostics and treatment in days, not months
A full medical workup that typically means months of waiting elsewhere is completed in China within 48–72 hours. Imaging, labs, and multidisciplinary consultations are integrated into a single visit, allowing treatment to commence immediately.
Transparent, itemised pricing
Chinese healthcare offers legally binding, itemised cost estimates before treatment begins, eliminating hidden fees or surprise billing. Due to national centralized procurement, total expenses remain 40–70% lower than comparable care in Western Europe or North America.
Policy channels that open the door
China facilitates access through 240-hour visa-free transit and dedicated medical visa routes. Policies like the Greater Bay Area drug pathway and Boao Lecheng’s pilot zone allow designated hospitals to administer innovative therapies not yet globally approved.
